Zeva bms issue

I had 1 cell that wouldnt balance. Reached out ton an at zeva. Told me to check the cells. But it should balance over time its not to far out. Fast foward to this weekend. I ordered a new module. Broke the pack down and every module read the same but 1. Took it out and put in the new module. Re assembled everything. Put the cart on charge and now 2 cells next to each other wont go over 3.99 when all others are 4.16.

I have a gigavac contactor for hv and lv cutoff. What bms are you using since zeva is no longer in business.

Re: Zeva bms issue

Those two cells have a lower state of charge than the others. The internal balancer will never bring them back into line as it’s not powerful enough. Use a current limited 3.65v power supply to charge them up individually.

I use JBD BMS’s but I’ve read good thinks about the JK BMS and it has a 2 amp active balancer that should be able to keep most packs perfectly balanced.

Cheers
Pat.
