Solenoid constantly clicking and no reverse
I have a 1987 Electric EZ GO marathon. Just replaced solenoid, now it is constantly clicking and I have no reverse. The cart goes in forward just fine, but there is still the constant clicking in the solenoid. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Richard |
Re: Solenoid constantly clicking and no reverse
Solenoids click rapidly when the activation circuit is too low to maintain the proper draw on the contacts..... It is either a poor connection or a low voltage problem, like one bad battery?

Re: Solenoid constantly clicking and no reverse
Thank you. The no reverse, could that be the micro switch?
Thanks again Richard |
Re: Solenoid constantly clicking and no reverse
That would be 1 possibility.

Re: Solenoid constantly clicking and no reverse
Thank you for your time. The cart is a 1987 Electric EZ GO Model G1487. The clicking stopped in the solenoid after replacing bad battery, but the wires to the solenoid and the solenoid itself is getting very hot. Getting 36V to solenoid. Any ideas on what the cause of this could be? Any pictures on how the wiring and the solenoid should be hooked up? Found diagram on site but it is not very clear.
Thanks Richard |
