Soundbar and lights wiring
Hi there,
I just purchased a 2021 EZgo Express S4 elite lithium cart and am wanting to add a soundbar and possibly lights. So a few questions: What kind of soundbars and/or speakers are popular? What did you mount it to? on my cart, there is no bar that runs side-side above the seats, so it looks like ideally I get one that is ~40 inches to attach to the metal bars holding the roof on either side? Did you wire straight to the lithium battery terminals? or is that too high of power and need to attach to some kind of 12v converter? and did you add any switch in-line also? Is it noticeable how much power the speaker and lights use up from the battery? I also read something on here about adding an additional standard battery and just wiring the speaker and lights to that, which caught my attention. Would just putting in a marine battery, wiring straight to that, and having a trickle charger on hand to charge as needed be good enough? Thanks for all the help. |
Re: Soundbar and lights wiring
I used to use a regular 12v car battery for my stereo and lights. Now that I replaced my main pack with lithium I also replaced that 12v car battery with lithium. I have both chargers mounted on the cart so it's one extension cord to charge up both.
But when I had a regular 12v car battery the trickle charger did the trick. I have LED headlights/taillilghts/interior accent lights and a JVC stereo. It would run those for hours and hours and it wasn't even a marine battery. That battery was used when I put it in the cart and I had it in there 2 years without issue and removed it, still working, when I replaced it with lithium. Fast forward to now, I removed the stereo (it broke) and for music I use a Bose Soundlink Mini https://www.samsclub.com/p/bose-soun...n/prod24670414 Great sound and sits on one end in the cup holder. |
Re: Soundbar and lights wiring
I have a 2016 RXV that has Lights and a soundbar. I wired both to a 12 volt reducer that turns on and off with the key switch. the soundbar I used is a Bazooka G3 Party Bar. Sounds great and has led lights as well. Mine is the 36" version.

Doesn't that car have a 12V DC-DC converter to run the headlights/horn? Might be able to run your speakers off that.

I have a 48v light kit directly wired to my RoyPow 105ah 48v battery and a Wetsounds Stealth 6 mounted. Hard to beat the quality of Wetsounds, but it is 12v and I run it through a voltage reducer. Good luck.

I through-bolted the bar into the roof support struts. Hope this helps. Trevor |
