93 gas club car fluids to change
 

I just bought a 93 gas club car I am picking up tonight. I want to change all the fluids from the start anyone know all the fluid weights and quantities I will need to do the job so I can avoid 3 trips to the auto parts store

engine oil you,ll need an oil filter and 40 oz,s of either 30 wt or 10/w/30 trans and rear end i beleive take the same however everyone has a favorite so lets see what others offer............................................. .8)

i thought gass trans and rear end used 80/w 90 or you can drop the 75/140 syn in it them? syn is the way to go for the rear end and trans. i still use convention on the engine side. 10w30 is what i was told by my dealer, but they say sae 30 will be fine also.

there is no oil filter on your cart, if you have the flat top engine, if you have the ohv engine, it has the oil filter on the front driver side of it(under driver seat, driver side) get you a fuel filter , for a small engine, the unerversial 5/16 1/4 lien with the clear body to see whats in it will be fine. only need one, if you have 2 get 2 of the same filter. i found running NGK brand plugs work awesome on the cart, and thats what kaw. put on it from the factory. and air filter. rember these things have the choke before the filter, so make sure your air box is installed correctly! they can be easy to put on wobber jobber and look like they were put on right. when you try to drive it in the cold, it runs like poo! most arts are available commercialy. you do not have to go to a dealer, but your BGW sponsors would appricate it!

i was told sae 30 in the electric and 80/90 in the gas for club car. thats what the maunul for my 99 is saying.

does 93 still have the flathead? thought that changed in 92?.................................8)

hey tpm your the expert! you own the shop. and we all make mistakes.:) but we minght find out he has a suzuki motor in it like a previous poster on anther posting said! or how many weridos put hondas or briggs in there carts? but yes the more i think and recall it prob is the ohv engine. but i did say in my posting if you have the flat top engine it has none, and if you have a ohv its on the front under the driverside seat on the left side.
dont worry tom, i aint going to take it personal, taking 6hrs to repack bearings on a truck that should have taken 1 1/2hrs. put me in a pretty good mood tonight. plus i like how we correct each other if we get something wrong.

A 93 should have an OHV FE290!

You'll need:

• 2 qts. of 10w-30 motor oil (conv. or synth. your choice!)
• an STP 4967 oil filter or equiv. (again, the brand name is your choice)
• 2 bottles of 80w-90 gear lube (conv. or synth. again... your choice)
• a grease gun, and a tube of grease, (if you don't already have one)

Changing the motor oil and filter I'm sure is a "no brainer" for you, just don't overfill it!

One tip... when the oil is drained, turn the key on, (without starting it) and confirm the low oil light works!
(You should do this every time you change the oil!) and then of coarse, turn the key off!

Now... for the rear end:

your 93 should have a 2-part rear end, the top part is the transmission, and the bottom part is the trans-axle.
I've heard that the older CC manuals state that SAE30 should be used in the top, and 80w-90 should be used in the bottom,
I've also heard that 30w and 80w-90 are really not that much different, but some may argue that point!
My buddy has been using 80w-90 on both top and bottom on his 94, with no ill effects!

On the transmission, (top) you'll find the fill and drain plugs on the passenger side of the unit, 8 o'clock and 6 o'clock:

On the trans-axle (bottom) you'll find them on the drivers side! (4 and 6)

Drain, and reinstall the drain plug, (yeah, I know... but it's happened!) :oops:
and fill it to the point of lube coming out of the fill hole on both top and bottom units. then reinstall fill plugs.

Grease the front end and you should be good to go!
