Read on and look for thread "Generator 101" herein for my 2002 CC. It is pictorial and describes some of the Ups and downs of DIY.

very easy to replace just look at it mark the few wires you have to take off and than you have 3 bolts holding it on....disconnect battery 1st...............................8)
