Help Identify Club Car (40v?)

3 Attachment(s)
Hi,

I’m looking at purchasing a restoration project cart. It’s a 6 seater Club Car DS of some sort. That’s all I know. It seems to be a 40v system but my research finds nothing on CC 40v (5 x 8v batteries), only 36v or 48v. Could this be just a 36v system that had been “upgraded” to a 40v system when it was time for new batteries?

Also, what year does it seem to be? series or serpex? regen? Etc, etc. Any info you can provide will be welcomed.

Cheers
Pat.

Series. No regen.
A cart like that on the US market would have been 48v and may have had eight 6v batteries.
Not sure what other markets may have got, but the controller is at the very least a series controller.
There may be another battery (or a few) hidden under the front seat.

Year should be on a serial number sticker below the glove box. Those are frequently missing, but there may be another sticker elsewhere on the frame rail or under the seat.
Actually looking at it again, there’s a chance that cart started out life as a gas cart and was converted.
That hole in the body front left of the front seat looks like the hole for a choke button.

Thanks Fairtax4me, very useful info.

I haven’t see the cart in person Morevolts2, I’m buying sight unseen. I’ll see if the seller can provide a picture of the VIN plate.

Cheers
Pat.

Is it possible that it was a 36v cart and they dropped in a combination to get to 40v to increase performance?

This is the charger that comes with it but it is being sold as not running. The seller openly admits it’s in very poor condition and he has been unable to get it running. He is also providing a photo of the VIN plate later today.

The interesting part is it has Toyota badges all over it. Hybrid?

I was wondering if it had been used in a Toyota factory.

Is that a 72v charger?
