98 txt s/g stays running after key is turned off
 
my starter/generator stays running even after I turn key off..I checked my accelerator micro switch and it good..its strange it would run after the key is off!

bad solenoid or its wired incorrectly.

I have not re wired anything on this cart but how does the solenoid effect the s/g I have schematic for this cart and I do see the key to accelerator micro to voltage reg goto s/g but it makes no sense because the key should kill the circuit

When it is not working correctly, check and see if there is voltage on the activation circuit for the sol. If so, you have a wiring issue, if not, the sol has stuck closed..

Since it has worked correctly previously, we can rule out wired incorrectly now. That leaves only solenoid failure, not shutting of is a typical solenoid failure. The contacts are pitted and they are getting stuck in the closed position. A new solenoid will fix the problem

Just out of curiousity, was the cart misbehaving when you checked the micro ? If no, that could still be an issue but I'm thinking solenoid also.

this happened to me it was gas pental

I will be troubleshooting this in next couple of days I will post finding..

but I did swap out gas pedal micro switch and problem is still there. I will check voltage on solenoid soon
