Clutch removal tool

I made clutch removal tool for my 244 engine by using a bolt and a piece round steel rod a few years ago. I have a friend that needs to remove clutch from the 4 cycle engine. Will my homemade tool work?

Yes.3/4 fine pitch bolt and a smooth rod or I have seen some post where you fill the hole with grease and screw the bolt in and it pops it loose.
