Alarm sounding in forward. No movement in forward or reverse
 

Just received golf cart delivery. Gentleman dropping it off drove it up to my garage. After he left, I was not able to get the cart to go forward or reverse. Read manual. Am doing normal procedure so far as I can tell. Gentleman said as an aside that he had adjusted speed control, removed auto braking fuNction when foot taken off pedal. I think he did that immediately before driving cart down our long drive way. In any event, I charged overnight thinking perhaps that was the problem. After doing the same thing over and over (putting parking brake into action, turning switch to on, moving from neutral to reverse or forward ( warning sound occurs whether reverse is pressed or forward), and then depressing accelerator, nothing happens though I did get about six inches in reverse one time out of perhaps twenty. The car is set to run as opposed to tow. Does anyone perhaps have a tip as to what I am doing wrong? I had planned on doing a good amount of work with the car today, so fairly frustrated that I can't figure out what is wrong.

Please when asking for help from FORUM INCLUDE MAKE, MODEL, YEAR, VOLTAGE and if not sure Give Complete Serial Number as it really makes a difference on how speedy we can help you. Was this a NEW CART or a USED UNIT? If you got the cart from either a private party or dealer I would call them to come back and fix it to your satisfaction? If cart was purchased sight unseen with no warentee we can help but first the seller should stand behind the sold product? if you get no results from seller you should contact Better Buisness Burea?
If cart was sold from a written ad of some kind keep a copy for any later action needed. From what you say I would wonder why he would be making changes in your driveway unless the cart was defective to start with?

Very common.... Sounds like it's just been washed. When water gets in the F&R Switch of an IQ cart it'll cause this exact symptom. Here's what ya do.... Take a small flathead screwdriver and pop the toggle switch out of the black box. You'll see two tabs near the base of the switch... Pop them loose and the switch will separate.... Blow it out or let it air dry for a few hours... Then reassemble it... It's really a simple design, you'll see how it goes back together. If not, let me know. Also, water also gets into the 3 pin plug behind the F&R where the F&R wires attach to the wire harness... Pull it loose and let it air dry... Betcha it'll run.
