Electrical Issues
 

Sorry Guy, I know there's probly a thread on here explaining this, but its hard to look through them all.....What I've got is a 1994 Medalist that the wiring caught fire....I got a good deal on it and got most of it rewired, but have a couple of wires I'm not sure of....is there a wiring diagram that is more descriptive than the dealers manual.....its not very user friendly....thanks for any help

Ok guys, here's what I haven't figured out.....maybe someone can look at theirs and let me know.....

1. Where does the red key switch wire go to....I'm thinking the micro switch above the reverse alarm.?????

2. Where does the black wire with the in-line fuse go from the solenoid to where????

yep,red wire from ign sw goes to the micro sw with 2 tabs on top and connects there, the black wire with fuse connects to the same point,goes on the other tab with red wire,thats your hot feed to ign sw and buzzer.

Thanks a lot......with all the wires being melted and the previous owner having a few add ons, it was kinda hard to trace all the wires back to their origin.....you were a big help jeffrun....now i'll finish it up tomorrow and see if I can get it running.....

if you have things lke headlights,stereo,etc they should be fuse seperate from the cart ign.fuse. good luck.

Ok Jeffrun, maybe you can help me out with the next issue I've run into....or anyone else is sure welcome for their input......I've got it firing, but it will not run....I've checked the spark and its good.....the compression is very low.....40 in passenger side and 25 in driver side cylinder.....could the valves be the most likely culprit for this......and if so does anyone have a link to where I can get the specs for the valve settings....thanks again for any and all help

Yes, set the valve clearances to try and raise compression, there are stickeys above for the procedure. You should have at least 120psi or more to have a running engine.

Once you get the valves set, recheck the compression and go from there. Those initial readings will not support ignition. Try pouring a little oil into the cylinders and recheck compression. If it comes up, then the rings are shot. If not then the valves are not holding pressure.
