Took off with no one on it - 1992 36v EZGO

Wife got on the cart today, backed out, put in forward and cart took off at full speed and wouldn't stop! finally landed against a fence, wheels still spinning. Father-in-law helped her out and disconnected the negative. WOW she went for a ride. I'm headed down to go look at it in the morning, where do I start? Never had a problem with it before. The key didn't turn it off, pushing the pedal back and forth did nothing. I don't know where to start troubleshooting and would appreciate any adivice!

I've looked through the wiring diagrams and think it could be at the F-N-R switch?

Any history of the cart? Does this cart have a controller?

Bought last year, ran just fine around the lake. All stock.

I had that happen to me, but it was a stick that got under the cart and wedged the accelerator rod. Scared me to death. I know how she felt! Glad she OK.

For future reference, you can move the shifter to "in between F & R" to physically disconnect the motor.
