I did that to my engine, but Yamaha G2's have a rev limiter, I did replace the harness with a G9 harness and igniter the cart GPSed 28mph with 23" tires, I still wanted more so I put a Vegas Carts 460 in it.. she GPSed @ 42mph with a stock rear-end..

That looks amazing!!! 42mph.... Wow! How's it handle at that speed?

Re: G2 85 straight pipe

The 42mph was with the Vegas carts 460, she handles extremely well, here is a video with me running down a gravel road with my dog sitting next to me, at the end of the video I tell her to stay in her sit because she likes to jump off and look for critters in the weeds at that intersection..

just to clear up if wondering, the G9 in the video didn't have an engine when I purchased it, but I did install a G2 engine from another cart that I originally started with..

You can do it in a long afternoon.See the installation pics for your cart on the vegascarts site off the sponsor menu above. P.S. I did my early yamaha G14 with one that basically has the same engine cradle and transaxle with one. With stock gearing and 24" tires I backed off the throttle at 42.3 mph.

Nice video! If you don't mind me asking, what lift and suspension do you have? It looked like it handled well under high speeds. At least I didn't see a lot of play in the steering.

Like Raydhd said, You can purchase complete kit from Vegas Carts, I made some of my own parts to save a few bucks, in turn It took me a little while longer to build..

Thanks Spriddle, It's a Jake's long travel, there is very little movement on the gravel road and even less if any on blacktop I would feel comfortable doing 60 mph if I could get it there..

NICE!! You must have an authentic Jake's. One of the best!! Nivel bought out Jake's not too long ago and it went to crap. If I ever big block my G2, I'd like to get an original Jake's.
