Oil Pump for 1988 EZGO
Anyone know where I can get a replacement oil pump for my 1988 EZGO Marathon? Mine works, but the tang that fits into the end of the crank has some wear and I want to replace it.
Getting ready to order the engine rebuild kit. Ordering my parts from Baker Cart Supply. Thanks much, Dave |
Re: Oil Pump for 1988 EZGO
if you want to make sure it ALWAYS works then i would bypass
the pump and mix my own (that way you always know it's getting oil) just my 2 cents, Dew  |
Re: Oil Pump for 1988 EZGO
Yep, I realize that was my only reasonable option and I think that is what I will do.
I remember reading somewhere in here about 1 ounce of oil per gallon, right? Thanks Dew. Dave |
Re: Oil Pump for 1988 EZGO
YA, 1 oz. to 1 gal.
if you run it hard i would go 1 1/2" to 1 gal. later, Dew |

Oh sorry; 1 1/2 oz (not an inch and a half.) lol

Re: Oil Pump for 1988 EZGO
Thank you for everyone's help, I appreciate it.
We are going to ****-can our oil pump and mix 6 oz. of oil to a 5 gal. can to start with after we rebuild the motor and give it fresh paint (ground up resto). One question about my fuel filter. Do I need to be concerned about the fuel filter being a certain kind now that I will be mixing my gas? Thanks for any help, Dave |
