How to troubleshoot controller

I have a 99 ezgo 36 v. I am pretty sure the controller is bad but need to know how to test it. I have already replaced the solenoid and diode. I just want to keep it stock what should I replace the controller with??? :? terwin.

You can download an ezgo service manual and it will have the diagnostic stuff in there.
