What grade of oil to use for EZ Go golf cart motor EH29C?

What grade of motor oil would you recommend to use for an EZ Go golf cart with a Robin EH29C motor?

Standard 10W-30....I think some owners are starting to use Synthetic... Maybe someone can speak about synthetic..

For me it depends upon the compression .... high compression is okay for 10-30 or 10-40 but at anything below 160 psi I like straight 30w. The motor will burn less of it. hope this helps 8)

I'm goin with scottyb on this one. I use straight 30 in most all my air cooled small motor work.

Hello Scotty / EZGo Go,

If thats the reason of using 30W you already have a wear problem.....
If you use a to thick oil it will make the wear more bad, because it can't get everywhere.
(Use a thick oil so high W xyz, when there is getting gas in it:lol:)(Auch.., humor!)

The difference in W xyz is mostly depending of the environement temperature, than the enginetemperature and for the wearresistance at those temperatures.

Look at the Motulsite, there is /was? a good explaining on all this on their site.

Hello Chadwick,

See my answer in the oilthread above this one.

Simply sead, Mineral 10 / 30 is good in standard golfcarts, all seasons.
Synthetic only when heavyduty.
Otherwise, whats the $ difference all at the end......, so i would take the best.
