1990 ezgo marathon--600 yards, then nothing

I finally installed batteries and followed the wiring diagram. There are some small wires coming from the on off switch box, and the F/R switch that I couldn't tell where they used to go with all the corrosion. I ended up getting them in the right place, and connected them with a screw nut. It seems there is one wire that requires an in line fuse. What happens if there is no fuse on that wire? I did go 600 yards screaming like a kid on Christmas morning, then towed back home by my neighbor on his 4 wheeler.....

Resistor cart or controller cart? Can you post pics of the wiring or the diagram you followed?

Sounds like you had it working and something fell off?

The orange wire nuts are what I put on just to make the connection. I am going to go clean all connections really well and see if that helps.

The green wire is the one that had a fuse holder end piece on it and I cut it off and made that connection. I was going uphill and it felt like the cart was under a little stress then something either came loose or just turned off.

Thanks for your help, I really don't know much about this stuff.

That's the one I used. It doesn't seem to show where there would be an in line fuse coming from the positive key switch wire. Maybe PO had something there to turn on when the key turned on?

Thanks for your help. It ended up being a really corroded connection on a battery terminal in the back. Shows how much I know.

Glad you fixed it! Looking at the picture I almost posted I SEE YOUR PROBLEM! The cable going to the solenoid broke off of the 36V B+ connection (near bottom left of pic ) but then I realized this picture was taken during your repair not after the 600 yard sprint.

Btw thanks for the picture! It confirms that indeed my cart is a 90 marathon as well!
