timing belt
are 4 stroke ez-go engines interferance engines? (will they shell ouy if the timing belt jumps a tooth or breaks) And how often should they be replaced? looks like a real pain to swap out!

Re: timing belt
Yes they are an interference engine, the belts hold up good and they are easy to change the clutch has to come off thats the toughest part!!!!!

Re: timing belt
Timing belts are usually not a part that needs to be replaced, unless there is a problem. In my 10 years as a dealership I have never had a broken timing belt in for service, BUT have heard of it happening...

Re: timing belt
Hello,
Even we with our 8500 and more revs don't ever change the belt. Only when it got oil on it for a longer time and when the engine was stuck because of broken pistons, cranc etc. The only thing than happens is loosing teeth..... Benno |
