G1 steering with home made lift
Made a 4" lift for my cart. Now need to figure out the best way to raise the tie rods . I've done alot of reading on here about them and I'm numb with over load of info LOL would like some input on wich is the easiest and safest.
Also how big of tire can I run on this critter ? would like to keep the 8" rims if I can 20x8x8 ??? kinda the look I'm giong for |
Re: G1 steering with home made lift
I cut the steering arms off the bottom of the spindle brackets and welded them to the top. Been running strong for over 7 years now.
20x8x8 tires should be no problem. http://www.ddturner.com/steeringarm.jpg |
Re: G1 steering with home made lift
Thats one way I was thinking of doing it .How about just flipping the spindles ? I dont know if the flip will work the way the king pins are made ??

Re: G1 steering with home made lift
You can't flip them. You will lose your caster or camber. I can't remember which one.

Just be aware that the steering arm will run into the shock now instead of the A-arm. Unless you have power steering by Armstrong, it won't be a problem.
