no power to motor

Hello all. This is my first post, the problem is I am not getting power to the soleniod. Where does it get power from? I found the switch on the gas pedal that I think is like a brake switch. I have checked the pos and neg fuse they are fine. This is a g2 yamaha electric. Thank you

Welcome to the forum... Your solenoid has 2 small wires. 1-black is ground all the time. 2nd- red-that runs to the "stop" switch under your accelrato pedal. this "energizes" the solenoid to let current flow thru. If you have 36 volts at the brown wire (wire harness side) at the stop switch and 36 volts out of the stop switch (when you press on the accelrator pedal) but dont have 36 volts at the solenoid, you have a broken wire. First I would check your charger receptical, it has a "white" push button called the "charge lock curcit" the car will be "dead" if the charger is plugged in or if the receptical is damaged. Try some wd-40 and push the button several times to see if it will free itself. Good luck Keep us posted.

Thank you and I must say what a great site well found the problem it was the new solenoid I think the contacts had aproblem I went back and installed the old one and it worked. Now I need advice on what golf cart works best for hunting.I was told that running my G2 at a low speed was what caused the heat problems on the battery terminals I really like the way the G2 is set up and if there was a way to upgrade it I would do it but it looks like it's just to old.Guess I need more tork and less speed or maybe they make a two speed any Ideals would be great thanks again norm:thumbup:

Did you get the new solenoid from Buggies Unlimited? If you did, send it back and get your money back. They sell nothing but junk!! Our site sponsors (listed in my signature) carry the highest quality parts.
