G16 - stalling and backfiring
 

Hey guys, I'm a newbie, but have enjoyed the wealth of information provided on this forum.........I purchased a G16 recently and I noticed immediately how she would start fine (with minimal choking) and run ok for a few minutes, then stall (felt like she was starving for gas?), if I push the gas very slowly, she would sometimes come back to life, but if you push the gas quickly, she would die..........just to spice things up, she likes to back fire occassionally and randomly throughout the process described above........I'm no mechanic, but have done the basics (new fuel filter, oil, sparkplug), however the problems remain.....but not very consistent......I've driven her for up to 3 miles with no problems.....while at other times, she won't make it to the end of the driveway (very hit or miss!)..........I suspect it's carb issues (and I don't do carbs)........any suggestions much appreciated!
