Which batts. would you buy?

:shock:I know this an old and ongoing topic, but let me simplify it! I need 6-8volts, for my 48v, and it only gets minimal use at best. What is the most bang for the buck, pure and simple, no graphs, no comparison charts. I simply want the person who knows batts. to tell me I don't have to replace my T-875 with like, if I don' really need to. I've heard Interstate Blue caps, Deka's, Exides, etc., may be a survey would be better?:help:

I have a friend who is in the cart business. All of his are electric and all of em get the Excides, from the rentals to the customers.

Trojan T-875's, hands down, everything else is lower quality. Second choice is US Battery (white with red tops). We ONLY use Trojan, but you'll soon find out that I don't scrimp on cost, as my name is on the line on every cart we sell / service. Just remember - you'll never put $4.00 a gallon fuel in it.

For cost effectiveness Exides are well worth it. They hold up comparable to Trojan batteries. We keep both around, 99% of the people buy Exides, we don't have any problems with them.

U.S. and Deka have good reputations, I haven't had experience with them.

I despise Interstate batteries and batteries made anywhere but USA, they don't hold up..

BRS...simply buy the best battery you can afford. Take good care of them and they will last a while.

Re: Which batts. would you buy?

So I need to get some new batteries as well. I have Trojans in my cart now but, they are old and was told they don't hold a charge. I know I looked inside and the water was low so that would be one issue.

There is a guy on Ebay that sells information for $5.50 on how to rebuild your batteries with about $3.00 worth of materials. Now, I am not an expert but, maybe someone has had luck rebuilding a battery and would like to share if it is even possible.

I know that Les Schwab has a line of batteries here locally at $93 a pop.

Has anyone had experience good or bad with them>? I believe that batteries will last if taken car of properly.

Thanks,

$115 is a good buy on those T875's. anyone know of a place that would have that kinda of price in the upper midwest? (im sure shipping wouldn't be worth it for me to get some from down south...) thanks!

Re: Which batts. would you buy?

Yes DISTILLED!~ H2O

We had a tech service a forklift one time... (one time) and I went out back he had the hose running over the batteries to fill them up... I think he was missing some teeth...:-P

What ever you do " Just say NO to the hose!!"
