1989 ParCar p4g Parts ordering?

Hello,

I just picked up a 1989 p4g. Ran great last year, but this year it wouldn't start. The guy i bought it from had it looked at prior to selling, and they told him low compression was not providing suction to the fuel pump, and to replace the piston rings. While attempting to do so, he lost the head bolts, spacers, and spark plug wire.

I have looked all over but cannot find the head bolts or spacers. I have both the parts and service manual, and have the original part numbers, but I am still not able to locate them. Where do you buy your parts, or does anyone know the dimensions/ thread count of the bolts and size of the spacers?

Thanks!

What are the part numbers you need? I can see if still available.

You are welcome! We are all here to help get those carts running again and even if I don’t have the parts I will do my best to help find them somewhere.

Update for anyone tracking: Cylinder is back together, pushing 100 psi. Sadly, it's still not running. Seems like it isn't getting fuel to the cylinder. I've swapped for an electric fuel pump, checked carb, etc...it actually seems to be blowing the fuel back out of the carb towards the air cleaner. (No, the piston isn't on backwards, I checked. EX to the exhaust port.) I'm thinking it must be crank seals...any other ideas before i have to pull this thing?:(

Check the reed valve, change the crank seals, and put the pulse pump back on it.

X2 on this. The fuel pump is needed to draw fuel from the tank to the carb but engine vacuum is needed to draw it from the carb to the cylinder. You are missing the second part of the equation. Crank seals and the reed are a good place to look but you may want to see how things run with muffler off as well to see if a plugged muffler isn't holding things back (unlikely).

Personally, I run electric pumps on all of my gas carts as I hate pulse pumps but that's an opinion thing. If you are getting gas to the carb you are probably ok there.

I've heard horror stories about the pulse pumps, so since i had an extra electric pump sitting around i put it on. I havent put a vacuum gauge on it yet, but the pulse pump wasn't running when the engine was turning over. That was my starting point, but the electric pump cleared that issue up. I'll pull the muffler and see what happens.

Call me dumb, but where is this reed valve located?
