00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
Hello guys,
Having some trouble with a drive clutch from an FE350. I researched a ton and couldn't find any instructions on how to do it correctly. I took the bolt out which was reverse threaded, but can not get the drive clutch out. Both belts have been removed. How does one remove it? Any photos? Thank you all very much. |
Re: 00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
The Drive clutch is pressure fit, and you need a clutch puller to get it off!

Re: 00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
Finally, a lead! Thank you very much! Am I going to need to drop the engine out to do this or can I do it with everything in place? Thanks!

I had to unhook my leaf spring on that side to give me a little extra room. But no you shouldn't have to remove the engine

Awesome! Now to put the new one on, does it just screw back in or do I use the bolt I took out of the original one to put it back in. Thanks so much!

Re: 00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
put it on and tighten bolt as instructed.........if you have the right puller and tools you can do this without removing anything......its a tad tight but quite doable..............................8)

Re: 00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
I ordered the part and got it in today, however there seems to be a problem.
I'm not looking to remove the driven but the drive clutch http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...clutchrg4.jpg/ The part belts 20 & 21 are going around. The tool only goes in for the 1st inch or so, then goes flush with the threads and stops going in. I don't know why I can't figure this out. Reading online it seems very easy, yet I'm having the darndest time with it. Any photos would be extremely helpful as google is showing nothing. Thank you very much. |
Re: 00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
Boy what a pain! For some odd reason the tool I bought was incorrect. On Nivels website #5707 is the tool found here:
http://www.nivelparts.com/pages/product.aspx?sku=5707 Now my buddy who works on ccs brought his tool box over and showed me one that is similar in design, pretty much the same, but thinner. This one screwed right in and with a little muscle it came off. I hope this helps someone down the road. |
Re: 00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
It's kinda funny that you bought the puller from Nivel, and not Cart Parts Plus like I suggested,
It would have been the correct puller, and less expensive to boot! Oh well... live and learn! |
Re: 00 Club Car Drive Clutch Removal
Thanks for the reply. Reason for Nivel is because I get wholesale pricing with them, photos match up the same and look the same as well.
My question is do they make two different models? A big and small in size version? |
