Welcome

You can start by figuring out what kind of golf car you have and letting us know.

You will have to buy one. There aren't any manuals available online to download for the Melex. There is a few schematics floating around but thats it.

Thanks for the welcome.

Im new and guess Ill ask some more questions I have an old melex that I had gotten a deal on and am trying to figure out the problem it has.

The owner I got it from said it had a bad selenoid.

When I took it home I looked at it and it had a selenoid mounted to the cart with nothing going to it (I assume the original) and a smaller one just hanging with the wires gouing to it.
I got the part number from the original looking one and replaced it Nothing happened.
I then tested the key switch and the foot pedal switch and the fw and rev switches they all worked.

The next thing I did was plug in the charger and it didnt turn on.
I borrowed one and the same result.

Any imput on my next step would be apreciated.

Re: troubleshooting

Check all battery cable and control wire connections. Clean and maintain as necessary.
What voltage are you getting from the pack as a whole and from each battery individually?
Charger may need to "see" a minimum voltage from pack before starting the cycle.
You can charge 6v batteries in pairs with a 12v charger. No battery cables need to be disconnected to do this.

Re: troubleshooting

Well I have to ask another question.

I put in good batteries and still no go.

Ive tested the motor all the switches all the wires and am to assume the only thing left is the controller.

It has a curtis 1204 controller. And I was wondering how to test it.

Thanks for the help
John
