Charger Problems 36 volt
 

I recently bought a 2000 Club Car with 2007 batteries. Everything has worked great until this weekend. I left my charger plugged in for two weeks while I was away from our campground. I used the cart and when I plugged the charger in it did not turn on. I left it plugged in overnight and when I came out in the morning it was charging. Next time I went to charge it the same thing happened and the charger did not turn on. I used a neighbors charger and it worked perfectly. Any ideas on what is wrong with the charger? Are there kits available to rebuild them? It is a club car charger. Thanks for the help!

While it is possible to rebuild the charger (depending on what's gone bad in it), you'd better know what you're doing. High voltage involved here....If you look at the sponsors, you can probably find a 36V charger pretty cheap. You might even be able to recoup some of the cost by selling the old charger on this site for parts.:thumbup:

Might just drop it off at a dealer and ask for a test & an estimate? 2007 is pretty new for us ... jus sayin we haven't seen a lot of them here yet. Maybe you could tell us?

This is a 2000 with 07 batteries. I have been reading about OBC causing problems like this. Does this sound like a charger issue or possibly a OBC or another issue?

Just a FYI , Powerdrive (and Powerdrive +) chargers are smart chargers, which work
with the OBC. If left plugged in they will come on ever 10-13 days and top off the charge. To reset this sequence after you return then unplug charger for 5 minutes then plug in again.
To make sure Batteries are not already completely charged get a Digital Volt Meter and
check Pack Voltage.
