Re: Polaris Slingshot
Yup. I watched a couple youtube videos on this when they first came out. They are awesome. A little expensive for a motorcycle but it would be cool to have one.

Re: Polaris Slingshot
Between that and the CanAm Spyder the 3 wheel motorcycle world is looking really awesome.

Re: Polaris Slingshot
What I love about the Polaris is that it has the feel of a car with two bucket seats...

Re: Polaris Slingshot
I want to see Polaris come out with a dual sport slingshot. So it can be driven down the road and then thru the game reserves. That would be cool. It could take the world of side x sides to a whole new level.

Re: Polaris Slingshot
There is one that drives around my town. As Sir Nuke said some states wont recognize them as anything so that would suck if you bought one. They are friggin awesome though

Re: Polaris Slingshot
I love the idea of the reverse trike. I just think this side by side slingshot needs a fourth wheel and a roll bar.

Re: Polaris Slingshot
The motor is a GM Solstice. It is powered by a new 2.4 L (121.9 cu in) I4 Ecotec engine. If equipped with a dual-scroll turbocharger. The engine's output is 260 hp! 2384 cc
At 1743 lbs. with this motor all you need is a pilot licence. There are several of them here at work and they will fly. My bossman just got his a few weeks ago. At $24,000 for the top model I'll wait a few years. |
Re: Polaris Slingshot
while dropping my bosses RZR off at the Polaris dealer we took one out for a test ride, Holy hell these things FLY

The wife was like what! When he told her how much it was, I already knew what they where. She said once we get my Tahoe paid off I can get one. I think I'll buy a 67-68 Camaro instead if she still says the same thing.
|
Re: Polaris Slingshot
Actually they are cheaper than a rzr1000 side by side and are street legal.

Re: Polaris Slingshot
I want a 67 RS/SS are a 68 RS/SS either one would be fine with me.
I found the 67 my parents owned back in 67 that dad bought new. The guy bought it from my older brother after dad sold it to him. He sold it to this guy when he got married. I have tried to buy several times but he want sell it. Some day I hope he will. at least it's sitting in his basement and not outside. This is a google but it's what I want and looks just like my parents old car. Dad worked for GM Chevy all his life and he had a Camaro every year. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1282846794 |
Re: Polaris Slingshot
Memories...
My Popz had a Cortez Silver 4-speed, 375HP 396BigBlock 1967 Camaro SS when I was younger. He wisely sold it when I turned 16. I would have crashed that car for sure. It is on my bucket list to own one of those cars. I remember looking over from the passenger seat at those big round gauges waiting for him to shift gears and listen to the tires chirp when he did. It was funny that I remember by the time he hit third gear, the vent window (that was only on the 67) would slam closed as the wind blew by. It looked just like this one without the wheels... http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzY4WDEwMj..._id=880000500F I'm also about to go to Florida next week to trade in my 2006 GTO on a 1970 Buick GS455 Stage one car. It isn't the GSX, but still one of my bucket list cars. I'll post up some pictures if everything works out... Wish me luck!!! |

|

Re: Polaris Slingshot
Well our local Dealer finally got one in And had it setting outside the other day, So I stopped by and talked to the salesman about it. Now mind you I have bought 2 street bikes, 2 dirt bikes, 1 four wheeler and a off road go cart from this place over the past years and always had a good relationship with this dealer . I would like to think I was a good customer ? So when I asked to take the Slingshot for a test drive I was told NO ! I told the salesman to go get the owner I wanted to talk to him, Salesman comes back and says owner said nobody is driving it but him. And if I don't like it go somewhere else! Well needless to say I will never darkin his doors again ! My hard earned money will be spent somewhere that appreciates a good customer! Sorry for the long rant guys.

I wouldn't get all tore up about it. Unless you put some cash down want none of them let you ride them. I've been to 3 differant dealerships and none would let me drive it. |
Re: Polaris Slingshot
Andy I have know the owner for 20 some years, and I have spent a lot of money at his business. If that is the rule of the dealers so be it, But you don't treat a good customer or any customer for that matter rude and expect them to come back to your place of business. maybe I am wrong with the way things are today, But it's my hard earned money that keeps business open like that and it will be a cold day in ______ before I go there again!

Re: Polaris Slingshot
I hear ya and I'm with you. I'm trying to teach my daughters the value of business relationships, customer relations, supporting local businesses and the like. Getting hard to do. Businesses aren't interested in customer loyalty anymore. They wine about churn rate but think of it as an absolute. The solution is to steal customers from a competitor with no thought about keeping the ones they have.
There was a slingshot operating locally. I used to see it a lot but not lately. Hope the cops didn't get him --- or worse. |

Were you seriously thinking about purchasing the slingshot from your dealer or just wanted to take it for a spin for the wow factor?
