did hei mod on 2pg....now solenoid super hot!!
 

So I just finished the hei mod on 84 marathon. Went fine far as I could tell. Cart stared like it should and ran fine. So I left it at that and went for a coffee. When I came back (couple hours) I happened to rub my arm on the solenoid by accident. It was super hot. Now Im confused to as why. Checked all the wires to see if I ran them wrong. Nothin that I could see. Anybody have the issue before???

Oh and to add to my post. I wasnt driving the cart around to cause the solenoid to get hot.

Could it be heat transfer from the HEI igniter fastened to the same metal plate? I just did the conversion as well but not run it yet. The clutch off rebuilding it.

I would check all of your grounds on the whole cart. Take them off and scrape any paint , rust ect.. off and see what that does. Our carts are notorious for bad grounds.

Well. I dont know what I did but.......it fixed itself. I love when that happens.:lol: So know if it would only do a full motor rebuild that would be great.
