Good morning everyone.. New Member here so please forgive me if I ask some ? that may have already been addressed. I've been looking to purchase a GAS CC and yesterday I was able to pull the trigger and picked up a Carryall-2.. I think its a 94.. Anyway, to start off with I have two quick questions.

1. When I press the GAS pedal it seems like it takes a while for the gas part to kick in.. I mean like 3-5 seconds for I'm under petro power.. Is this normal? I was think that when you press the pedal it should kick in and go.

2. I was thinking about setting up the cart so it would idle.. I was reading a post and someone made mention about removing 1 wire and the unit would idle until it was in nuetral or reverse. Of course, if I can get the gas pedal to react better I may just skip this altogether.

My 2002 gas CC was sluggish to start, especially cold, and I noticed the generator belt was loose.

I loosened the bolt in the back of the generator (1/2" open end wrench, socket and ratchet) and also loosened the adjustment bolt (1/2 open end wrench, socket and ratchet).

Then I pushed the generator (not too hard) from the front of the car rotating it slightly to the rear and tightening the belt.

Holding it there, with help, I retightened both bolts, starting with the adjustment bolt.

Now, it fires up immediately, cold or otherwise.

Cheap, easy, and problem solved. I will need a new generator belt soon though. The old one is somewhat worn and I don't want to be left stranded by a broken belt.

LO's answer is a very good one, if it seems that your engine is cranking over slowly!

If the engine is cranking normaly with the choke held in, it just may need a tune up!
(Air, and fuel filters, and a new spark plug)

If the engine doesn't start cranking until the GO pedal is almost 3/4's to the floor,
It just may need a throttle cable adjustment!

Ok.. So far I tightened starter belt and no luck.. So I started checking the carb.. It seems that the air/fuel and another set screw near it are all the way in... Like someone tried to adjust it, and couldn't get it right so instead they just turned the set screws all the way. Go figure... I'm gonna pick up a spark plug and such for a tune up. maybe then it will idle.. Then the adjusting can begin (i hope)

If I remember correctly, (don't quote me on this, because it's not in the manuals I have)

The Pilot air screw (#15) should be 1 to 1 & 1/2 turns out from a lightly seated position!

The pilot jet (#13) should be seated, and requires no adjustment!

that whta i did with mine lockman. i had to remove the anti tamper thiingy on the number 15 screw. but i had to doit to clean the carb, make sure al was clear and clean!

Ok.. After a day of trying different things.. I'm no better off.. When i press on the go pedal how far should i need to push it before the motor kicks in.. I'm having to press it all the way down to get the motor running. Does this sound like a carb problem? I noticed that the idle screw is too short.. looks like someone put the wrong screw back in.. Thinking about buying a rebuild kit.. Any recommendation on why I can pick one up? and more importantly how to identify the carb?

There's a number of different variables...

First off... You (we) need to know what year cart and what size engine you have!
There will be a serial number tag just to the upper right of the GO pedal,
it should start with an EG94XX-XXXXXX
EG = Carryall 2 - gas, 94 = 1994

There may, or may not be a paper tag on your engine shrowd with a bar code and some numbers below it,
if there is, it should read something like FE290DXXXXXX
FE290 or an FE350 is the size of your engine, then you should be able to find the proper carb kit or parts!

could it be that the battery charge is low on mine which i am in the middle of fixing up i noticed when i put the throttle pedel to the floor i would watch the starter/genertor would take a few second before it would turn but after i put my battery charger on and charged it up it goes right now i would try getting battery load tested
