Re: swingarm drop?

Never done one but I think you would design it
with tapered wedge fronts to skid over the occasional
stump or rock??

Watch for "High-Centering" also known as "Sudden-Stop" or "Holy-Crap that hurt!!"Me and my wifes' cousin went up over a mound last summer, hit center and both almost went over the hood.:lhmo::lhmo::lhmo::lhmo:You can drop the front half the amount of your lift, and make a big difference. My Dad dropped his almost equal to his lift and its' way too low.Hope this helps.

Re: swingarm drop?

When we did the 16hp Briggs in Dads' Marathon,we dropped the swing-arm so that everything was level with a 5" lift, but it only needed to be dropped about 2-1/2"-3",he dropped it almost 4-1/2".He set the motor-plates over the existing mounts so it needed room to clear the air-filter under the seat,if the motor is mounted down into the cradle, you will gain more clearance.Check my album for pics of his cart and engine compartment.Hope this helps.

Re: swingarm drop?

Im going to keep the stock welds on frame and swingarm and use plate steel to move it back and down...

Re: swingarm drop?

I used 2 pieces of 3/8"(overkill,i had it,only need 1/4") by 3" wide flat-stock.Drill your holes to the pattern for the amount of drop you want, and then unbolt the swing-arm,bolt the shackle in its' place with a thick flat-washer between it and the bushing to shim it out to the same width as the stock ear on the swing-arm.Then bolt the swing-arm thru the lower hole.Square up the rear-axle,as it will now float freely,Adjust it so that it is square under the cart and set the rear-axle where you want it front-to-rear.Tighten the bolts to lock it,and weld the shackle to the swing-arm.I'll post pics later tonite of mine.Hope this helps.
