You only need 6 to 8 inches of travel to dump the bed. |
Re: lift actuator
to take it a step further...
a good place to buy one? cost factor? quality? how heavy of one to get? 400 pounds? I found this website but not sure about the pounds and quality? http://progressiveautomations.com/li...bs/cat_13.html |

Re: lift actuator
Mines 2200 lbs. That's not required but it is where I found the deal.
I'd shop around. Here's one from Northern Tool. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...3243_200333243 I would think if the bed can hold 800 lbs you would want that??? |

Plus the leverage is reversed short stroke to long travel right? |

Re: lift actuator
the link posted by fab does not look anything like the stock one on my carryall 272. It is a stock unit. I can also say that with me sitting in the front edge of the bed (about 260) it will not even move. I have seen another carryall with an electric over hydraulic set up. looked factory as well from a 96. that thing would dump a whole bed stacked with firewood with no problem. downside is that it had torn many of the welds apart under the bed from all the force.

Re: lift actuator
Here's mine ...The lift is from a john Deere gator..these lifts are way to pricey about 800.00 new and 3-4 hundred used on e-bay:shock:. I got lucky and got two of these off craigslist for 30.00 .....they have a 1200lb rating and about 7 inch's of travel.
The lifts from Northern look like a way better deal. Works greats....It's dumped every thing Ive had in the bed so far...rocks,boulders,wood,dirt,my 250lb kid...:lhmo:....: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...N/102_2076.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...N/102_2078.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...N/102_2129.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...N/102_2141.jpg |
