Testing of Curtis Speed control?
 

Having an issues with shorting out Accelartor ms and burning up dieode on solenoid after f/r sw burnt off a wire on bottom of selector. Replaced solenoid also checked new one still good it clicks on the bench. Burnt up 2 accerlator ms that give power to solenoid. Is it feed back from speed control.

Try installing the next diode in the correct direction on the solenoid. Silver stripe goes towards positive. And cart can operate without diode.

Thanks, I thought I saw on here that the dieode could be left out to test, but then needed to be added once up and running. I had the strip in the right direction. Thinking that I forgot to place the isolating washer between the solenoid and the wire though. Saw where the wire of the dieode arched on the side of the dieode when it blew. Trying to check out the speed control without amp fuse link between the wires of the MS4 sw and running the power with and without the 4 pin plug in the Speed Control. If I blow the fuse once the pin connector is plugged back in and the petal pressed I would think that proves a high amp back feed coming from the speed control. For what ever reason I am getting a power to direct ground at those wires. The green wire comes from the ignition sw, the red wire goest to the solenoid to give power to the solenoid. The green wire gets its power from the blue wire on the ignition sw. some where in the system I am getting a direct ground to power that heats up the MS4 sw and blows the dieode, so not much there other than a red wire feed back from the speed controller that also goes on the positive side of the solenoid and a black wire feed back from the controller that goes to the ground side of the solenoid, the back up ground and then to battery ground completing the solenoid circuit to energize the solenoid. Should not be blowing the ms4 sw every time the petal is depressed. Ron
