It's a trick question, like Jeopardy?
The answer is What's a DCS cart with a bad controller. Seriously, look at the chart below and identify your drive system.... it's series or DCS? |
Re: 1998 ezgo txt electric no reverse
looks like dcs by your chart . thanks .where do we go now

Re: 1998 ezgo txt electric no reverse
Back to your other thread on the same question? :lhmo:
There are 3 options: New OEM = most expensive 275 amp controller not suitable for modified carts rebuilt OEM = same but up to 300 amps, still not suitable for anything more than golf course use. High failure rate with some rebuilders Aftermarket 400 amp DCX Alltrax and HD solenoid = suitable for modified carts on 36-48v. 30% more torque and speeds up to 24mph. That's what I would use. |
Re: 1998 ezgo txt electric no reverse
thank you for the help. any way to jump it out to test it

Re: 1998 ezgo txt electric no reverse
swap the black and white #10g field wires and now you will have reverse, no forward. It is in the controller. Flip the TOW switch before doing any electrical work on your cart.

Re: 1998 ezgo txt electric no reverse
can we still use it until we change the controller or will we do any more damage
|
Re: 1998 ezgo txt electric no reverse
Yes, you just will not have reverse

If not, check for Battery Pack Voltage on Pin 4 (Org wire) of controller when F/R is in R. Quote:
