Club Car DS 48V with Alltrax SR48400 - voltage drop to 38V when pushing on pedal
Hi,
I do have a Club Car DS 48V which I upgraded with an Alltrax SR48400 and a new 400 AMP solenoid. Everything worked smooth until yesterday. My problem is as following: the batteries are fully loaded (voltage of battery pack is 51.8V) and when I push the pedal, the voltage drops from 51V to approx. 38V measured at battery pack with my potentiometer and shown in the Alltrax monitoring tool. The Alltrax monitoring tool shows error flag low-battery and the golf cart does not run. Does anyone might have solution or an idea what the problem could be? Thanks in advance, Ferdinand |

Do you have big tires, on a hill, upgraded motor, anything like that? Is it staying there for a long time or just a split second when you take off?

Hi Jake_Daddy,
no upgrades so far (no big tires, no upgraded motor). Well, it worked the day before without any problems. BR, Ferdinand |

You either have a failing battery or a very bad cable connection on the battery or to the controller from the battery. Those are the only things that will drop the battery voltage that much.

You may have a loose cable connection on the battery pack. Check individual battery voltage when this happens. Make sure a rear wheel or both are off the ground in case it decides to run.

Yep I would go with what everyone just said if your completely stock other than controller. Check all the cables for good connections, see if anything’s getting hot, and check individual batteries for drop.

I would say that you have a bad set of brushes or a bad spot on the motor armature. Probably when you were working on the cables you moved the cart and moved off the bad spot on the motor.

WalterM6, thanks for your Input! You have an idea how I can check the motor brushes? Is there any possibility to test it?
