Installing headlights on 1980 marathon 36v

My first cart is a 1980 electric ezgo that I believe is a marathon. There are no lights front or rear. Can I just mount aftermarket headlights below the front cowl and if so where would the hot wire connect to? I know LED light have a small drawl but am I headed for battery problems no matter what lights I choose? Thanks, Zilla

in my understanding, most light kits for golf carts come with wiring needed. They also usually come with a template where you cut out the holes in the cowl and body, etc. However, if you're planning on adding your own lights, be careful, as most accessories run off 12v and most carts are 36 or 48v. This will either cause you to drain two batteries more than other, or require a voltage converter, usually found around 70-100$ that will take 36 or 48 to 12v output.

wiring can be run underneath the carts frame, just take a peak, you'll probably find a way to hide it. Be sure to add plastic weather-coating so the wires stay clean.

Alot of people add a small aux 12V battery (motorcycle/lawn & garden type) with a seperate 12V charger or Solar panel on the roof. They wire the lights to this

Thank you both for the info. I like the idea of maybe adding mower battery and connecting to it through an inline fuse and just recharging it with my deep cycle setting on battery charger as needed. Never thought if keeping lights or other aux items on a separate battery
