Yamaha G3 Squeal no netural

I acquired a G3 cart, and decided to install a plastic work bed on rear. The cart seemed to jump a little under a load so why not change out the primary clutch with the newer style and upgrade the spring in the secondary with a jake spring ,slapped a new belt on it and now it squeals loud adjusted the belt its tight. The cart can not be pushed in neutral like it did before. Any suggestions or ideas? Seems like if i get it past the loud screams and squeaks it will run just not at low start up RPM. Tired of waking up the neighbors!

Drive belt is probably too tight and sticky to allow you to roll it. Usually the belt will slip in the clutch sheaves, but with new clutches and new belt it sometimes is a little tight. Drive time will alleviate that. Just need to wear the belt a little.

The squealing you hear upon startup is probably your starter/gen belt. If the belt is old or too loose it will squeal like that. If it's new, snug it up nice and tight. If it's old, tighten and see if it helps, if not get a new belt.

Are you sure it’s a G3? Is it a 2 stroke?

If the G3 had the same clutch as the G1 it had what I call an idle bearing in the center, easy to push. The aftermarket clutches like comet didnt have that bearing and they are a bear to push. You tow one and you’ll melt the belt

Try your old drive belt, see if it does the same thing. If not, that new belt might be a tad too small. I like a little slack in my drive belts.
