Clutch parts under dust cover

4 Attachment(s)
My G-16 has been pulsing at speed. Today I pulled the dust cover of the primary and I found 2 plastic bushing under it. I assume a bolt went through them but I can not find where they should go and there was no bolt under the cover. Any idea where they should go. Could these be the cause the pulsing along with 1 flat spot and a discolored roller picture 3,4. Thanks Carl

Also curious about this. Found the same two bushings in my dust cover of my G16 as well. I pitched them and don't notice them missing... my cart seems to run just fine (no jerking, hesitation, etc. as far as I can tell) but then again I've never really driven a gas cart before and mine is a little modded.

I was hoping when I pulled the cover I would find the cause of the jerking, but I am lost. The clutch did not look that bad. I am going to pull the wheel off tomorrow and see if a brake might be hanging up.

The flat rollers are definitely not good and all three will need to be replaced. They will not be inexpensive, so don't be surprised when you shop for replacements ($18-$25 ea approx.). I remember those little plastic parts when I had my clutch apart and I believe they fit into holes and are a "stop" for "maybe" the weight arms (can't remember exactly). A screw doesn't go through the center. Good luck - RAY

Cart Parts Plus, $55. for a kit! Vender on here. Rollers and shafts

Don't konw what those rivit looking things are, Would they be in the weights to keep them from making noise from knocking against the sides of the sheave?

Re: Clutch parts under dust cover

I looked it up on the Yamaha parts site and it is called a "PLUG" - p/n 90338-04840-00. I'm pretty sure it is a stop for the weights/arms when they are at rest (clutch fully open). There are 3 of them, one for each arm. They probably keep the arms from rattling on or banging into the metal of the clutch at very low speed or when you let off the throttle. - RAY

PS-If you decide to replace rollers the set recommended by MikeMac is the best deal around (it also gives you new pins)!! I wish it had been available when I did my clutch.
