Looking through old posts and I see no one jumped in. I have an old Ds that I am re-doing as well. It is down to the frame (I am actually putting an new frame under it). I have painted some of the body so far but am planning to paint the aluminum trim that shows on the frame black. I have some old 2 part prep system from Dupont that I got years ago. You use part A then B (just brush it on to get part wet then rinse off and dry), after that I just plan to use a n epoxy primer and then spray single stage automotive paint. I will do all the aluminum trim like this. I want it black to contrast the body color. I have done several other carts this way and it all seems to hold up well so far. You probably have already done yours based on the date of your post.

I finished this cart for a member at the club a few months ago. I installed a new Double Take black body. Took the new headlights and taillights apart and painted the trim with white Rustoleum 2X paint from Ace. I also painted the side rails which hold side bumper trim white and put several coats of clear on as well. I know that it will eventually get dinged up a little but is an easy touchup in future.

This is a double pack lithium cart with XCT500 and Plum Quick Executioner motor. Controller is moved into battery bay. The only electrical behind the battery tub are motor leads and taillights.

For all of the black plastic trim, not much on a DS, I use BLAK available on Amazon. If your floormat is not extremely worn, it will make it look like new. This stuff is not slippery like most automotive crap. The last pic with DT Dash shows part of the original 2007 floormat.

OOPS - Just realized how old the original post was
