Solenoid activated F&R
1 Attachment(s)
ok alot of people have asked me how I do a F&R system using (2) 6 pole solenoids so I am posting the drawing I have that shows the wiring. Nobody laugh at the artwork please. I don't have a CAD program so it isn't "pretty". If someone wants to use a CAD program and clean it up, I would be grateful. This design was given to me, it isn't my idea, but it works. It's very similar to what Par Car does, but I have never liked the way they use the diodes on the "hot" wires.

Re: Solenoid activated F&R
lmao Scotty......
Back on topic for a moment..... something I forgot to mention in my original post.... This system works for both 36 and 48 volt systems, just buy the appropriate voltage solenoids. |
Re: Solenoid activated F&R
OK, dumb question here, so this would replace a fnr switch on like a series cart, TXT, and you get to use the standard fnr switch like from a PDS cart? I am just trying to understand it all in my head. What solenoids do you use in this setup (brand). Thanks

Re: Solenoid activated F&R
The extra solenoids would be the same size/rating as the main solenoid because they pass the same current.

Re: Solenoid activated F&R
White Rogers makes the legendary # 586 in a 6 post configuration in both 36 and 48 volts. They are not cheap. List is $80 - $110

Re: Solenoid activated F&R
So outside of the convenience of a push fnr switch you really do not gain that much. It would be cheaper to just go with the heavy duty fnr to begin with.

Re: Solenoid activated F&R
You would get improved safety and performance. Even HD F&R can melt. Another reason for this is ease of operation ... The Ezgo F&R handle is too hard for some elderly people top operate.
