G29 clutch issues
I posted awhile back about my 2014 g29 washer that holds on the driven clutch on keeps wearing off and my clutch comes off the shaft wondering if maybe anybody's had that problem thought maybe I over torqued the bolt but it came off today torqued it to 35ft lbs maybe that's still to tight that's all I could find. Kind of a big deal really don't want to strip out the teeth on the shaft any help would be awesome

Re: G29 clutch issues
Did you try putting loctite on the threads

Re: G29 clutch issues
I do not have the service manual for the G29, but your torque looks a bit low:
Primary sheave:
Secondary sheave:

Re: G29 clutch issues
I did loctite the threads because I put a low toque on the boltand was concerned about it backing off, but the bolt coming off isn't the issue it's the washer underneath the bolt it keeps ovaling out around the bolt then there's nothing to hold the clutch on . Nothing seems bent or anything to make it do this thanks for all the help

Re: G29 clutch issues
I have a 2007 g29 modified by Plowmans that the driven clutch retention washer fails. I was wondering if the person with the 2014 g29 with the identical problem has found a solution?

Re: G29 clutch issues
the retention washer lasts about 3 months so each of the three times it's failed I've returned it to Plowmans for repair. Mr. Plowman has stood behind his waranty and repaired it but it just keeps failing.

Re: G29 clutch issues
Plowman's has replaced the clutch, the input shaft, and still the washer has failed. Mr. Plowman has agreed to repair it again. I will post an update on my 2007 after the repair.

Re: G29 clutch issues
I have dealt with a few of these on course carts that never had any maintenance and were dogged pretty hard. We tried replacing washers, stacking 2 washers inside each other, using a fender washer and a few other things. These things caused the snap ring that holds everything together on the secondary clutch to fail and caused it's own issues. In the end we replaced the input shafts and made sure they were thoroughly coated in anti seize before installing the secondary clutches and applying lock tight to the bolt that retains the clutch. Have not had one issue after that.

Re: G29 clutch issues
I bought mine new only has about 250 hrs but is lifted and gets used quite a bit. I've been using a stainless fender washer on top to at least keep the clutch on when the washer fails.how involved is replacing the input shaft?
