94 Club Car Gas Throttle Problem

Hi everyone, I have a 94 cart that for some reason goes full throttle when you touch the gas pedal. I think I have narrowed it down to the RPM limiter but that is an expensive part to not be sure. I have searched everywhere for a troubleshooting guide to help me determine if I am right but have had no luck. Anyone know how to test that particular part or have the guide? I would really appreciate it.

Have you looked inside your carb to make sure your butterfly valve is in tact and working properly?

I have the same problem. I have taken the carb off and looked at the butterfly valve. Mine has only one side / half moon, is this correct?
or have I sucked the other half into the piston?

If you only have half, yes, that's the problem. Without the full throttle plate it will run wide open. No idea where the other half is though.

Did you own it and it ran fine then suddenly it only ran wide open?

If you got lucky, it went out the exhaust pipe faster than an Olympic sprinter hitting the finish tape. But if not; That evil minded piece of brass might be lurking just under the surface ready to rape your engine.

Chris.
