2 stroke gas ezgo 1990 sluggish no power

I have replaced fuel pump fuel lines and carburetor. I had to replace needle and seat in new carburetor because it was flooding (no rubber on needle valve) cart runs but very sluggish should I clean new carb or check reed valves? R the reed valves something I can clean or is strictly remove and replace my phone# 248 431 4144 mike (frustrated). Mixed fuel at 100 to 1 as instruted

Do a compression check. 120psi is new. 100 is acceptable.

Separate the exhaust pipe from the muffler. See if it runs better.

Lift both rear wheels off of the ground. See if it runs better that way, and if the clutches are fully operating.

I see on the last post is says to "Lift both rear wheels off of the ground. See if it runs better that way, and if the clutches are fully operating.". What if it does operate much better that way? What does it mean when the engine works really well with the wheels off the ground? BTW new drive clutch was just installed.

It means that the engine is capable of getting up to speed, but the power is not transferring to the wheels.

It may indicate a clutch problem.

What about your driven clutch? That seems to be where most clutch issues come from.

So how I have reeds pulled out I can see light around side of reeds does that mean I shoul flip them or replace them? 2 I lifted cart both clutches r fully engaging motor seems to be making rpm how do I tell if it’s the drive clutch or driven clutch that’s slipping the cart moves well on flat ground but looses power drastically when u get on even a slight grade motor sounds like it’s laboring.

Reed valves are check valves. They either work, or don't work. Your engine is running. I would say they are working.

105 psi compression is good enough.

How wide is your drive belt? inch, and three sixteenths is new. (1-3/16"). Anything less than an inch is junk.

Grab the front plate on your driven clutch. Try to wiggle it side to side. It should not move.
Remove the belt first. Grab both plates with one hand, and try to squeeze them together. They should not move.

If the front plate wobbles side to side on the shaft, it is junk.

Is the clutch on the motor the drive clutch or the driven clutch
It looks like the one on motor would be drive clutch and the rear one driven clutch How do I identify what motor I have? To be able to order new clutches
