2008 G29 Electric rear end fix
I've seen some of the threads regarding the stripped intermediate gear on the electric G29. Welp, I'm in that group too, now. Can't get the part - for years, apparently. So now just trying to source an entire rear end, on this continent, new or used. I'm relatively new to golf carts (but not automotives), so any advice is appreciated.
If no rear end or part is available, can I swap in some aftermarket rear end, or otherwise modify, or am I SOL and should just part out the whole cart? Thanks in advance. |
Re: 2008 G29 Electric rear end fix
Bad situation... the 2013+ models are equiped with a Dana rearend w/ drum brakes instead of the wet brake. Dana axles not so rare to find. Possibly a way to go.

Has anyone done this? I'd have to add an entire brake system, too then right?

1 Attachment(s)
Theoretically you'll need a Dana axle complete with drum brakes, 2 new l/r brake cables and some small parts for the brake pedal assembly. Enclosed a schematic from the Yamaha service manual.
