G22 Governor Cable Adjust
I am trying to take the slack out of the throttle cables 1 and 2 but I run out of thread on the cables before I get the slack out. Looks like if I rotate the governor bracket counter clockwise on the shaft I could get what I want.
Is that possible? Seems to be held by a bolt that squeezes it to the shaft. |
Re: G22 Governor Cable Adjust
Governor shaft is "d-shaped" on the top, it wont just turn. You dont want "all the slack" gone anyway. You want to adjust the throttle cables to meet 2 criteria: (or as close as you can). 1- cables do not start to open the throttle before the gas pedal moves enough to get the engine cranking (this would interfere with low speed operation). 2- gas pedal pressed to the floor opens the throttle arm almost all the way, about the gap of a ziptie in the narrower direction (throttle arm on carb "all the way open" actually opens the butterfly further than 90°).
