2009 RXV will only move "with assistance"
 

Was driving along and cart started to slow down and need more throttle input to keep moving. After stopping, it would not go again. put it in tow and towed home. When turning cart on, normal solenoid sounds, and motor sounds/feels like it wants to go. Jacked up rear end and if the wheels are given a small nudge, while accelerator is pressed wheel spin normally, forward or reverse. It will do this with brake attached or removed from motor. Is there some kind of clutch between motor and differential that could be causing this? Was going to separate motor from differential and troubleshoot further. Any ideas appreciated.

First thing to check are your batteries. Are they fully charged? measure the battery pack voltage and each individual battery. Report the results.
With the break off the motor you should get a beep, beep and no movement. ( Failing onself test ).
There is no clutch between the motor and differential ( direct drive ).

All batteries read 12.6v individually. combined 51v
With the brake off the motor, and unplugged - Same issue: accelerator pressed and motor/wheels will not turn without a push, then operate normally. No beeps.

Probably motor brushes need replacing.

Dalescartnogo, what you describe is pretty impossible!

Are you sure it's a 2009 RXV with the stock grey Danaher controller??
The start up sequence of the RXV is performing a break test every time ( quarter turn back and forth to test the brake ). IF NO BRAKE DETECTED > NO GO!

I've tried with mine some month's ago to drive w/o the parking brake attached. I've
got an error beep from the controller, nothing more.
Enclosed the Danaher Troubleshooting Guide with a lot of Info about this cart.
Again, there must be something elementary wrong!

Ojo, thanks for the guide - I will continue to troubleshoot with it. Our controller looks the same as the one pictured. You can hear it doing the brake self test, perhaps the motor bearing has failed and it is providing resistance similar to the brake?

The bearing encoder could be the culprit ( see page 25 of troubleshooting guide ). Resistance / wrong speed signal. Unfortunately it's a 200$ part, but it can cause the cart to crawl. To replace the bearing, you'll need to pull the motor out. Not complicated, but it's a very heavy beast.

Check the pedal sensors per the guide ojo posted. Could possibly be the accelerator sensor. A set of piercing probes are the best for most of those tests. Another possibility is a wiring harness issue. They are more time consuming to track down but are possible with an average digital meter.
