Par car goes in reverse not forward
 

Trying to help out a elderly couple with their parcar. They put new batteries in and it now only goes in reverse. It is a 48volt full electric , can't find a model . Has everything but kitchen sink though.
Put new key switch which I believe is only thing that makes it go forward or backwards.
Any suggestion what to check would be appreaciated.

had a couple of par cars really neat carts,, don,t remember key switch having anything to do with forward or reverse mine had a rocker switch on dash,, might look at that switch and see if possibly a wire came off for some reason you are getting current to it or cart wouldn,t move either direction,, there used to be a fellow that worked at par car think he was listed as tech on this site might ask him

Yea I asked a Tech some where but no response yet.. I think it is wiring as some readings where shouldn't be. I think there is what looks like a risistor?? on forward coil but not sure what it should read

on frame
348-00 SHIFT 1
on motor
69200-89A AC1 4001
on the seat it says Elite
It has 8 6 v batteries. The F/R is in the key switch on dash and has 2 little green lights on each side of switch, which are turn signals...

5EDZ-31392-E2 is the VIN, it's a 2002. The rear fork tube was made on the 1st shift, 348th day. Seat was a custom Florida seat, their "Elite" branding.

Was actually made in September 2001, it's the standard P4 Eagle, 48 Volt XP version. You would use the 96-2000 manuals for parts and service.

Wiring is in the parts manual, page 7-2. XP Troubleshooting is in the service manual, page 8-32.

It will be a challenge, no doubt about it with those solenoids. Have seen the issue be the key switch, the diode and/or solenoid.

This is what I have done.
1-I reversed the 2 F/R Coils- nothing changed still went in reverse not forward
2-switched the S1 S2 wires on motor and it went forward
3- I checked the resistor on the main coil and got a .25 ..ohm reading so I think it is ok
You say could be the diode. Is there a way to check?

Has new key switch and new batteries . My friend said it was working ok before she replaced batteries
