Re: DIY - 4 x 12v to 6 x 8V Conversion (Part 1)
Ok guys! I need help! I did the 12v to 8v conversion on my 2005 precedent. Everything went good modifying to fit. I have charged the batteries and headed to the course. Pulled of the trailor and she will only go about 3 or 4mph. Like she has no juice. Batteries are brand new. I'm not sure what I need to check or fix? Someone point me in the right direction please.

Could be a myriad of things but I would start with the speed sensor checks and the MCOR. (This needs to be posted down in the general forum so everyone can see it)

Make sure the F1 and F2 quick connectors are fully inserted into the controller.

You could also go with a 24 volt to 12 converter off of the first three 8 volt batteries.

Re: DIY - 4 x 12v to 6 x 8V Conversion (Part 1)
I did this conversion and all went well except when I went to charge the batteries... The charger was on all night and when I went to check in the morning, it was charging at 5 amps. The voltage across one battery was 9.5 volts..... did I miss something in the conversion. Or do I possibly have a charger issue?
I am perplexed.... any help would be appreciated. Larry |
