Forward goes backwards and Reverse goes forward...

Like title says...cart drives fine forward but selector is in reverse position. And goes backwards when selector is in forward position.

This cart was sitting in a field for 3 years and the previous owner said he upgraded the motor. Could it be wires on back of motor need to be switched with wires on front of motor?

Thanks once again for answering my stupid questions.

He swapped motor S1 and S2 (or F1 and F2) whichever it has.

What does that mean? What do I need to switch back.

Thanks for the help

Looks like a cording to this diagram, the motor wires closest to the passenger side of the cart are reversed. Does that sound right?

Look at your motor.....on one end of the motor (the side closest to the gearbox) As scotty mentioned, the studs will be labeled S1 and S2 (for a Series cart) or F1 and F2 (for a sepex cart). Take those two cables off and swap them and your problem will go away.

Or you can always put a sticker in the F&R switch that reads " Forward means Reverse" jk

Okay I swapped S1 and S2 and now this thing is slow in forward but runs like a bat outta hell in reverse. Any ideas?

I've done some wire tracing and I believe the wiring is all sorts of switched around. The bottom wire, not sure if that is A or C on a wiring diagram goes to B+ and the M- goes to the A1 on the motor. This doesn't seem right at all. Can somebody please point me toward a wiring diagram that is correct at tell me whether the bottom (attached to the cart) wire on the selector switch is the A or C wire. Thank you

seeing as how you have a S1 & S2 on your motor you have without a doubt a SERIES Drive system....I have attached a proper wiring diagram for your cart.

Attachment 153540

Looking at your cart....the cable that goes from the B+ on the controller to the F&R switch is on the A post, and it the one at the 6 o'clock position (at the bottom).

Another question I have is do you have a functioning REVERSE buzzer?

The reason you are going slow in forward now is that the microswitch on your F&R that is activated when you put it in FORWARD has an ORANGE wire attached to it that goes to the controller.....that's the "Half Speed" wire that slows the cart when placed in REVERSE. its also the reverse micro-switch that also has the reverse buzzer wired to it.

before you start swapping more wires or cables.....look at the F&R switch......with the cart in REVERSE......look at the rod and where its attached to the F&R Switch.....is the arm pointed UP or DOWN when the cart is in REVERSE?
