Ok Just cleaning things up on my Western golf Car that happens to have a 93 EZ Go frame under it Leaf springs on the front and coil springs on the back. It has a 4 stroke 295 Robbins. I thought it had a wrong size belt and changed it with a new belt from a local EZ Go shop (Turned out to be the same size belt). I would like to know where is the oil drain plug? I can see the oil filter with 3 10mm bolts. When I take off the oil filter to clean it will I have to take off the starter / generator belt? I also changed the plugs to NGK plugs. The cart still seem slow to come up to speed, but once its up to speed "On flat ground" its good. But run it up a incline and its still a dog. I plan on getting a 28 degree clutch for it, but it still seems the motor is lagging. My thought is it takes it quite a while on flat ground to get up to speed. I adjusted the valves on the valve spring to .004. That didn't help. It was a huge gap before that. Any help would be appreciated. How do you adjust the mixture richness screw on the carb, how many turns to start with and where to situate it at.

Did you check compression? If so what is it?

Don't have a compression tester and is on my list of needed tools. I changed the oil and cleaned the oil filter element. I removed the battery and cleaned the steel under the battery with a baking soda solution and painted it. I will paint it with under coat paint in the next several days.
I ran the car and if given the time it runs faster after the governor adjustment. What I find is when starting from a dead stop and apply wide open throttle (WFO) I can hear the motor struggling or call it bogging until the RPM catches up. The acceleration is slow. Now I want to put in a 28 degree clutch will this help the motor build up RPM quicker? what is keeping the motor to climb RPM under WFO conditions? I tried various mixture richness needle settings and not much help there. I also noticed that both drive and driven clutches work when I had it on jack stands. The front clutch closes and as it closes the rear clutch opens up.

Low compression can cause this condition. I would check it before I went to far with other add ons...
