switching to a gas cart

Hello, I've been registered her for a long time and have found tons of help with my electric cart. Today I bought my first gas cart. I know it is a MPT 800, I bought it as a project, it does not have an engine and I wanted one to build into what I want in a cart. My issue is that I cannot find the year of my cart to use to purchase the correct lift kit. I know the MPT is a non lifted workhorse and that most of the parts interchange. I just need to know the year. I have the serial number (2586159) but the plate with the other numbers that should be on the dash in the pocket is gone. Is there another way to dat the cart?

Thanks in advance and thanks for the great forum.

All Sports don't list one for a pre 2001.5 workhorse only 2001.5 up, so I'm guessing TXT will work, I'm sure front lift would be the same but not sure about back, not familiar with a MPT... Have a picture of the rear??

My 2008 workhorse was also a 3 bolt steering column... so the steering column trick doesnt always work on the workhorses.

Look on the frame rail under the seat. There should be a sticker with the model number and year on the sticker. Lot of times its covered in sludge so you may have to clean it to find it.

ST workhorses with a factory lift yes.. but the workhorse 1200/800 (non lifted) went to the 4 bolt steering in 2001.5 as did txts.

OK, I need to apologize, This cart has a 4 bolt steering column. Other than that the only label on it is on the transaxle, it says ME29. I made some pics and as soon as I figure out how to post them I will. It's a weird little cart, it has a strange cab on it that is very heavy, and a cool dump bed. I'm honestly thinking of buying another cart I know of that runs but has a screwed up rear end and putting this rear end in it, pulling off the dump bed for my electric cart and calling it a day.
