82 ezgo new motor help
 

i have a 1982 ezgo txt, the motor doesn't have power. what's a cheap motor swap to put into the ezgo? i was thinking of going with a snowmobile motor but wasn't sure if i would still have reverse in the cart. the main use for the cart was for the drag strip but it doesn't have enough power to pull one person around. i thought i should post here first before i go looking into motors.

Just rebuild the stock motor. Mine has plenty of power and runs 21-22 mph. We have had it loaded down with 600lb of supplies and two people. We have allso moved around our 14 ft camper/concession trailer with it. You will lose reverse with other motors.

can the two stroke motor be bored any? right now it wont pull one person around and our local track has some paved hills in the pits that take forever for this lil motor to get up.

Dat little 2 stroke should have plenty of punch to pull stuff around and yes you can buy 25 or 50 over just like any motor...... :thumbup:

Yes I think you can get 30 and 50 over pistons. I saw a post about milling the head one time allso. Should be in the Gas EZ Go. Good luck.
